The best suitable treatment is chosen for you from the aforementioned techniques after a thorough assessment by our surgeons and understanding your expectations from the surgery.

What most hair transplant surgeons don’t tell you is the importance of aftercare and how crucial it is to religiously follow the post-op care instructions. So, here we are sharing with you a list of DOs & DON’Ts after a hair transplant surgery so that you get the optimum results as desired.

DOs

> Hair Transplant is an outpatient surgery but kindly ensure that after a hair transplant surgery you drive back home with someone, especially in case of FUE treatment because the sedative used takes a few hours to wear off.
> Keep the grafted area or the recipient area of the scalp moist with sterile saline spray which is provided by Orange tree centre. Saline spray on the hair transplant area has to be continued for the first 48 hours.
> Start shampooing your scalp with a mild shampoo from 3rd day onwards. Be gentle and dry your scalp with clean towel without rubbing.
> Take proper care of the scar, in the case of FUT. Itching and scarring are likely to happen, apply medicated creams directed by the doctor for relief.
> Slight pain and discomfort are sure to happen. Do take painkillers as advised. You can take painkillers after 3-4 hours after the surgery.
> Sleep in an upright position, and keep your head elevated. For this purpose, you can use pillows or a reclining chair. Elevated head assists in reducing swelling on the scalp by directing the flow of blood away from the scalp.
> While washing your hair, apply very light pressure to the transplanted area.

DON’Ts

> After the hair transplant, do not expose your scalp to direct sunlight for a few days. The rays of the sun can cause irritation. You can wear a hat from 3rd day onward.
> As stated earlier, you may experience itching after the hair transplant. But, do not scratch your scalp. Let it heal by itself or you can apply the ointment given to you by the doctor.
> Refrain from both drinking and smoking after the surgery. They interfere with the blood supply to the scalp and delay healing.
> Do not indulge in activities that induce sweating because it can increase the risk of infection on your scalp.
> Don’t get worried when the hair falls out. After the surgery, the transplanted hair will fall out, and you will notice new hair growth within a few months. Be patient.
> Do not undergo any chemical hair treatments, like coloring at least a month after the procedure.

We advise you to follow these dos & don’ts for favorable results. Wish you a speedy recovery and a healthy scalp. If you have any queries related to hair transplant, please contact us at info@orangetreehealth.com or call +91-98681-68310.
